Tanika & Christian

Here is the sizzling hot wedding of Tanika and Christian from July 2017.  The summer sun shone down all day and the music, smiling people and heat created a real festival vibe. It was my first time photographing at Court Farm and it was such a lovely venue with lots of rustic buildings, a grand open fronted barn and lawns for the guests to enjoy.  

It was a real privilege to document her Dad helping her get ready which apparently was a old ritual from her school days.  He was such a pro with the buttons, clasps and veil!  One of the details that I really loved was the traditional henna tattoo that Tanika and all of the bridesmaids had done for the day.  Each design was so intricate and beautiful.

The bride and bus of guests may have both been fashionably late but that didn’t stop the day from being a fantastic event.  Tanika looked absolutely stunning in her dreamy flowing dress and sparkling headdress.  The ceremony was conducted by old family friends which made it feel more intimate and personal and they said ‘I do’ to a backdrop of the lovely barn and a wall created using photographs from their guests wedding days. 

Some of my favourite photos from the day were taken when Tanika and Christian took a break from their whirlwind day and found a quiet and shady spot for a relaxing drink together.    They just look so happy and chilled out as they shared some precious moments together. 

One of the most heartwarming moments of the day had to be when the music from the Irish band brought Christian’s Nan to the dance floor with a spring in her step and a twinkle in her eye and everyone joined her to belt out some old tunes.  Music is such a positive and powerful force.
